Ramilya Saubanova

Baltimore-based pianist Ramilya Saubanova is a soloist, chamber musician, educator, and cultural advocate whose work connects performance with community and heritage.

Originally from Tatarstan, she has performed throughout Russia, Europe, and the United States and has appeared with orchestras including the Rostov Academic Symphony Orchestra, Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre Orchestra, and Kazan Grand Concert Wind Orchestra.

Her concert appearances have included the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic and the Russian and Brazilian embassies in Washington, D.C.

Saubanova studied at the Kazan State Conservatory before continuing at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where she earned her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees under Alexander Shtarkman.

She is a member of the piano faculty at Peabody Preparatory and co-founder and president of Union Square Soirée, the Baltimore salon concert series devoted to creating close connections between musicians and audiences.

She also founded the Tatar Classical Music Project in the United States, bringing together music, history, and visual culture to introduce audiences to Tatar artistic heritage.
